What to wear with neutral colored booties

I recently bought a pair of tan cowboy booties mostly as a transitional shoe from winter into spring. Although it was a spontaneous purchase, it turned out to be an excellent of-the-moment decision. Not only are these shoes comfy, even with the small heel, they go with everything.

A lot of motivation for this blog came from my frustration with styling and the vague (and often endorsed) ideas from fashion sites and magazines. So this segment of my blog will be dedicated to styling, a “how to wear X a few different ways” sort of column. Just simple, straight forward style tips from one fashion lover to another.

My hope for this column is to showcase pieces that many women already have in their closet, as well as introduce a couple of wild cards to help define your personal style.

So back to the boots. I first wore these with a loose sheer white blouse and black jeggings–finally embraced these bad boys, which are totally acceptable in black. Denim jeggings are still a no no.

Outfit #1: Loose flowing blouse (any color–or add a colored necklace to a white blouse like I did to punch it up) + jeggings, leggings also would work + neutral booties. Just a touch of sophistication, cool and casual. Very on trend right now and perfect for work or a date.

When I first bought these, I saw them pictured with a lot of flowing dresses–so naturally this will make up a second look.

Outfit #2: flowing floral (or any pattern/colors–avoid neon) + brown or black tights depending on the coloring of your dress + booties.

Outfit #3: white button down, straight legged or skinny jeans + tuxedo blazer OR leather jacket in either cognac or black + booties.

Hope this helps, more to follow. Looking forward to chatting with you again soon.
