Recipe: Healthy roasted brussels sprouts

I always order brussels sprouts at restaurants and am amazed at the flavor and flakey perfection of each one.

So I got to experimenting…

I used frozen sprouts and steamed them in the microwave for three minutes, drained and squeezed out the excess water. I’m guessing these will be better fresh, but if frozen is all you have then follow the above direction.


-1/2-1 cup brussel sprouts

-1-2 tbsp olive oil

-salt and pepper

-garlic salt (optional)


Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Drizzle oil over sprouts and coat evenly.

Add salt, pepper and garlic salt or other seasoning and combine.

Bake for 40-50 minutes until browned, turning over occasionally while baking.

And there you have it, literally the easiest and one of the most delicious ways to enjoy these tasty but nutritious treats!
