I had the good fortune of spending my Sunday afternoon perusing racks of vintage and hard to find items at the giant indoor/outdoor once-a-month Chicago flea market, The Vintage Bazaar.
As soon as my friend Shannon and I stepped into the Aragon Ballroom, we gasped. Just the ballroom alone was enough to make anyone coo and awe in admiration of the beautiful tile and intricate details. The VB geniuses really couldn’t have picked a better venue, it played beautifully to the jewel toned arm chairs, quirky lamps and killer clothes.
We snaked our way through the crowd, stopping to try on hats and pausing to snap pics with tiger striped skinny jeans. Shannon even scored a cool and very old Pennsylvania map as an homage to her hometown of Philadelphia.
After finishing our first cycle in the ballroom, we stepped across the street and into the sun for even more vendors, with finds ranging from home decor to old school bicycles.
I don’t know if I could think of a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon. If you’re too a vintage thrill seeker like myself, then set your “good eye” on this market.
