6 trends to try this fall

Cooler temperatures mean fall is fast approaching. The Autumn season is chock full of new trends and styles like brocade, menswear, and military inspired pieces.  Try incorporating one or two of the trends into your existing wardrobe to stay up-to-date this fall.

Hunter Green

The easiest of the trends, treat it like a neutral. It can be worn with most colors, but keep it on point by sticking to warmer colors like oatmeal, deep purple and sapphire.

Brocade

Brocade has a definite fear factor. If you’re unsure how to pull it off, try a brocade jacket. Wear it as you would a blazer, keeping the rest of your outfit simple. A simple brocade jacket could amp up jeans, tees and pumps any day of the week.

Menswear Inspired

Think double-breasted jackets, Oxford’s, and boyfriend blazers. Try pairing these pieces with feminine or floral items to balance the masculinity.

Velvet

Finding the right piece will decide how wearable this trend is. If you’re feeling daring, try velvet trousers. If not, opt for a dark velvet dress in a classic silhouette.

Over sized

Large roomy jackets took the runway by force this season. The over sized look sure looks comfy cozy. Pick a coat in staple color like black, white, or camel to ensure wear all season long.

Leather

Leather piping on pants, leather sleeves on jackets, leather handbags, leather everywhere. Leather is  great for adding texture and variation to your wardrobe.

Hair & Makeup

Berry stained lips were spotted on the runways of Gucci, Givenchy, Bottega Veneta and more. Keep the rest of the face simple when testing out this look.

And keeping with the season, smokey brown eyes are a romantic and softer update to charcoal.

You can also never go wrong with keeping things fresh and natural, as seen on the models Vera Wang and Ralph Lauren.

Runway hairstyles include small braids, low maintenance hair and sleek ponytails.
