Face oil: why you need it

I have combination skin and for that reason I tend to stick to clearly labeled “non-oily” moisturizers. My usual combat to dry skin is to slather on Aquaphor before bed and let it work its magic. Although this isn’t always the most practical skincare choice as it takes several hours for that thick residue to absorb and I can’t easily incorporate it into my morning skin routine.

So after a small push from my Sephora consultant, Allie, I tried her suggestion for beating dry skin: face oil.

I opted for Fresh’s Seaberry oil because not only is the scent heavenly, the product works. No longer do I wake up with dry skin patches or flakiness. To boot, this oil gives me enough moisture and glow without causing my skin to breakout. As an added bonus, my skin has been so smooth and dewy that I’ve been able to cut back on how often and how much foundation I use.

If you have oily skin I would recommend Josie Maran’s lighter version of her well-sold argan oil.

Keep in mind that face oil can run on the pricey side so if you’re on a budget try Garnier’s version for body, face and hair. Allure magazine even featured it in their best of beauty awards.
