How to copy my winter uniform

As hard as I try, I really can’t get past piling on the cozy knits once cold weather takes the northern states by storm. I live for black leggings, textured t-shirts, and long, comfy cardigans.

However, transitioning my warm wardrobe to work-appropriate can be a little tricky. Here are three ways to wear my winter uniform for whatever occasion calls for stylish warmth!

For weekends

The true uniform shines on the weekends, throw on a colorful cardigan, or keep things muted in gray and black and you’ve got an outfit that’s weekend-ready for just about anywhere. Add a necklace for a little polish and a pair of tough moto boots to keep your toes toasty.

For work

Introducing treggings: Legging trousers. And no, I did not make this up. If your office is more lax on the clothes side, try a more structured pair of leggings, a classic chambray button down shirt (every woman must own one of these!), a cozy neutral-colored cardigan, and black boots or heels to elongate your legs. If you’re in doubt about leggings at work, try an all-black outfit. Black is slimming and has a tendency to appear dressier than other colors. Try a black tee and black cardigan or thin black sweater, black leggings and boots, and voila complete comfort in a dressed-up package.

For relaxing

Whether you’re running errands, heading to the gym, or just straight up kicking back, throw on some luxuriously soft leggings with a cheeky sweatshirt and cute socks. To really nail that sporty/lounger vibe, add a pair of retro-looking sneakers.
