Christmas party outfits

It’s that time again, the holiday season is here as are the endless holiday party invitations. Every year we go through this: what to wear when that time comes around. Well, fear not! I’ve pulled my three favorite looks this season that anyone call pull off.

Personally, I tweaked my 2016 look slightly (see my post last year on holiday party wear), still opting for a jumpsuit, but I traded my black and gold silk brocade for a heavier, slinkier velvet number.

In this post I break down all three options for your festive soirees, which one is your favorite? I’m still on a big velvet kick so of course I’m bias toward my new jumpsuit. 🙂

Black velvet

Obviously black is the best option for well, anything. These stunners can be dressed up or down with jewelry and accessories. I like keeping things minimal and letting my shoes do the talking, which is why I suggest you get your hands on a pair of sparkle-studded heels asap!

And here we are! My party outfit for 2017! I added an easy white t-shirt underneath my jumpsuit to keep things casual and offset my sparkly Badgley Mischka heels. My outfit worked great for my husband’s Christmas party that also featured the Cubs 2016 World Series trophy! We seem to keep running into each other. 🙂

Although, I get it. Jumpsuits aren’t your thing or you don’t feel comfortable in them, which we can debate another time, but for now let’s move on to other holiday party outfits!

I have been dying to get my hands on a fun, metallic midi skirt, preferably pleated. I love the idea of a shiny mid skirt, a cozy neutral sweater, and glittery pumps. Try this look with a simple white t-shirt and blazer, chunky pullover, or silk long-sleeve top. Heels are optional, although encouraged.

Red is such a fun color this time of year, not to mention it goes with everything. Seriously! You can play it safe with blacks, whites, and grays, but I like to mix my red with pops of bright pink or a velvety blue. And there are no rules with style here, go with a classic sweater knit, a slinky LRD, or a whimsical bell-sleeved number.

Go for one or all three! The 2017 holiday season is all about cozy style so you can’t go wrong with much.

Don’t forget to share photos of yourself in one of these get-ups in the comments!

Until next time, xo.
